Minimum Qualifications:

Currently employed as a Virginia law enforcement
officer, or employed within the last two years
Left former agency in good standing

Virginia DCJS certified officers can:

Be placed at the salary step matching your years

of prior relevant service

Skip a second academy
Be on patrol in Alexandria in just a few months

out-of-state certified law enforcement

Are you a certified law enforcement officer outside of Virginia and looking for a new opportunity? Then we are the place for you!

Minimum Qualifications:

Currently employed as a law enforcement officer, or employed within the last two years
Have at least 3 consecutive years of sworn law enforcement service
Left former agency in good standing

Out-of-State certified officers can:

Be placed at the salary step matching your years of prior relevant service for the first five (5) years of prior relevant experience; for every additional two-and-a-half (2.5) years of relevant experience, applicants will receive an additional step on the pay scale
Attend an abbreviated, relaxed Virginia DCJS-approved academy
Be on patrol in Alexandria in just a few months
